Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot of Kenya (2:05:52) and Teyba Erkesso of Ethiopia (2:26:11) are the winners of the Boston Marathon.

It is only the fourth marathon run by Cheruiyot, called “The Younger” to distinguish himself from the four-time Boston Marathon winner from Kenya with the same name. Ernst Van Dyk of South Africa wins the men’s wheelchair division for a record ninth time, defeating eight-time runner-up Krige Schabort in the last 400 meters of the race.
